expand your MIND... meet Yogananda

Has the Popes visit stirred your inner consciousness, spirituality or just hearkened for a kinder more gentle world? Well it did mine... all of the above. I cannot say that I am attuned to any serious path when it comes to religion but I do frequent the teachings of Yogananda. My dear friend, who introduced me to Yogananda, Kyle McDonald is teaching a course at the New York Open Center which will be starting soon. I wish that I could go to the class, I know because I have gone to a few of her classes here in Rhode Island, but you will have the chance to join her!

The Path of Kriya Yoga: The Teachings of Yogananda

class description:

Paramhansa Yoganada, author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi, is renowned for bringing yogic teachings to the West. His message was non-sectarian and universal, and stressed the importance of direct spiritual experience, which he called Self-realization, “the knowing – in body, mind and soul – that we are one with the omnipresence of God”. Join us for this rare opportunity to learn the beginning techniques on the path of Kriya Yoga, led by Kyle McDonald, which combines the practice of advanced ancient yogic techniques with spirituality in all aspects of daily life.

These techniques include Yogananda’s Energization Exercises, which help us to gain control over the body’s subtle energy flow (Prana) and Hong Sau ( “I am spirit” in Sanskrit)’ an ancient ego-dissolving, consciousness expanding pranayama practice that stills the mind by calming the breath, allowing us to cultivate the concentration needed for deep meditation and inner communion with the divine. We will also learn techniques to help awaken the energy in our chakras, particularly the Agya chakra (spiritual eye) and Anahata (heart center) chakras; awaken our intuition and recognize Divine guidance. Kyle will also share tips on how to create sacred space at home and commit to a daily meditation routine.

go on over to the New York Open Center to find more information and sign up for the class!

There are four sessions starting on September 29th - if you can't commit to all the classes drop in and sign up for what you can...

enjoy!

New :: NIco Nico is in store!

Nico Nico is in-store and so cute! I really loved this collection and I felt that Sue Tsai knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. Just when I think I have seen the best from her she came at us with this cute collection that inspires the desert in all of us! The colors evoke that warm cozy feeling of Fall and with the usual softness of her pieces kids really love them.

We made a little movie of the collection so that you can get a feeling of the fit on each of the styles but don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions - I am always here to help!
